Q. The computer runs normal when first booted but if you try to do several processes at once it will freeze. I have throughly check the computer for Viruses and Spyware the system is clean. Also when the computer freezes or runs very slow the CPU is reading 99% idol, so no processes are running. Do you think it could be a memory or hard drive issue?
I've killed all unnecessary services and remove all items from MSCONFIG and the System Registry. Also, I have over 20 GB of free space on my hard drive. The system is a HP Laptop, with 1 GB of memory.

According to your description,there are some regsitry errors and remnant,corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".You need to clean you computer.

What is the difference between IT and AV in the Navy?

I know they are both in the computer field but what are the job descriptions for both? I'm trying to get a head start on where I will sign my contract for when I go to Meps. I want to work on repairing electronics and i'd prefer to work on computers but depending on what they do I havent decided which one i'd rather join

AV in and of itself is not a rating but a rating field.
"AV sailors attend common basic electronics training, after which they are selected for either the Aviation Electrician (AE) rating or the Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) rating."
