What major should I choose in a Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences?

These are the choices: Software Development, Net-Centric Computing, IT Security, Computer Science, Information Systems Science, Information Services, what I want to know is which one of these is in high demand in the workforce and commands a high salary, also what is net centric computing.

Answer
Software development and Computer science are the best of the bunch. The rest are basic IT stuff. You want to be able to program well to get the high pay ones.
Netcentric is like networking.

i have enrolled in college for computer & information science, but i'm thinking maybe i should take computer science instead. what is the difference i thought it was the same plus some information teaching also. computer science + information science = computer & information science.... i would like to learn to build software maybe be a softwarer engineer or somthing. can someone just tell me what both are in laymans term and the kind of jobs i can qualify for, thanks

If you want to be a programmer making software. Computer science is mostly programming in general. CIS is more like information technology. Basically its one step below computer science.

I am a computer science major and know that it is possible in my school to get a specialization in software engineering so that's probably the path you want to take.
