What sort of animation software can almost give as good effects as Pixar ?
I know they make there own computer animation software
but is there any that can almost give as good effects if you can think of any please do tell

Are there still digital ink and paint jobs in animation left in the US?

Q. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who knew if there were any animation studios IN THE US - that still do their own digital ink and paint? I have a Bachelor of Computer Animation from SCAD and specialized in DIP.

I have found that all of the jobs of the DIP have been outsourced overseas. Is there still hope of me getting into a digital ink and paint position in the US?

I can't believe I went to school for so long and there just aren't any jobs in this field anymore. I know 2D is quickly falling by the wayside and the only 2D really left is television animation and a few movies - The Simpsons. Though I think that might have been 3D colored to resemble 2D.

I just want to work in my field, doing what I love, and what I'm good at. I have worked on a couple of movies and tv series as well.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm close to your field and noticed the same thing. I know the group that did Sky Captain was completely domestic at the time.
