Q. while i was trying to install a new theme, i moved a certain file out of the win32 folder and apparently it was the file that contained the login screen for my computer. upon restarting, it will boot all the way up to the login screen and then it is just a black screen. ive tried inserting my windows 7 disc and booting off the disc so i could maybe repair or reinstall, but it wont let me reinstall without booting up windows and then inserting the disc, which i cant do since i cant log on with my black screen. the only option that it seems to be able to let me do is do a fresh install, deleting over 800gb worth of media and work. is there any way anyone can help with this issue?
i also had the same ideas, i figure i could get another HDD and just install windows to that one, then just hook the other HDD up as a storage drive. the RAID setup or w/e...
i tried using the repair utility on the disc, and it informed me that all existing problems were fixed. im assuming that it doesn't realize that its a problem...
the exact name for the file that was removed was "imageres.dll"

Answer
When the computer boots up, go the repair route instead of the reinstall route. It does not have to have windows booted up to repair the OS with the repair disk.

Lake E.
Now this problem happens to MOST my games. It starts when, i open the game. When i continue with the game play, a tiny glitch happens. Then all of a sudden the colors of the game is a mixed up (including background, characters and texts). The only way i could get rid of that is by restarting the game. Can anybody help?
by the way, here info on my computer:
i have a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
2 gb ram
Samsung SyncMaster 933sn (monitor)
Anything else to put? just tell me. :)
Thanks in advanced!

While you're at it, you should also update your sound card driver as well.
