I am relocating to Harper's Ferry in April due to my boyfriends job. Right now I work at a community college and would like that kind of work again. The problem is that colleges and universities like to hire within. I have an AAS in Computer Info Systems. Any suggestions on how or where to look?

Don't make too many assumptions about the job market you'll find in West Virginia. Most employers like to promote from within (if they are smart), but they usually can't do that even 50% of the time, so don't be discouraged. With your background and experience, I bet you find a good job there.
There are a number of places to look:

Lists over 50 employers and job sites in West Virginia, including several colleges.
* Craigslist.org - http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/wv
Craigslist is a giant online classified ads site where people place mostly free ads. It lists 7 locations in West Virginia. Check the "jobs" and the "gigs" (short-term job assignments) for opportunities. Does anybody know if Web Develpoment is a good career choice?

Im looking to get into computer info systems and probably focus on web development. Just wondering if anybody knows if this is a good career choice. Also how is the pay?

Hi Chris. Web development is absolutely a good career choice right now, especially for the more technical positions like coders and developers.
It's true that the economy is hitting everyone, and with the layoffs there's a lot of competition out there, but I see web developer jobs listed every single day. On Craigslist, on Monster, on Dice. Go to the Craigslist for the city nearest you and search for "web developer". You'll see tons of jobs, and doing this will also show you what skills the hiring companies are looking for.
You can create search agents on Monster, Indeed.com, Oodle.com and other sites. Search for "web" or "web developer" in your area to see what's out there.
Here's the most important thing: the web is growing by leaps and bounds, it just hit one billion users. We're not going back to the typewriter, the web is going to be more and more central to business. Get good web / tech skills and you'll be in a great position to get a job.
