Alright, so what happened was I downloaded Java (please don't tell me that I should have read the info, I did I just didn't think that it would be that bad), and I got these Ask.com update stuff, and it is incredibly frequent. I even click yes to the update, but it appears as if nothing has happened. I then try to delete it, and it gives me an error message (Error 2738.Could not access VBScript run time for custom action .) that I have been scouring the internet for the answer to. I already went to the Command prompt as well, and that has not worked. Someone please give me an answer! It really bothers me! 10 points!

Have you tried: Start/Control Panel/Programs and features. Locate Ask and "Uninstall" it. After that you may need to enter the Registry and delete any file or folder pertaining to this site. Make sure to export a copy of the Registry before make any changes to the Registry.
