I would like to be a computer tech / network tech. What would be the best military branch for that career path. And I will be honest I am not in the best physical state I should be in but im running a mile every nite and alternating. My stamina is very low. I can usually get the mile done in around 9mins.. am I going to get torn apart in basic?
Answer
I never ran a day before I entered the Army but all you do is improve while your there. I know how you feel, your not the only one. You will find that there are people way slower than you.
As for IT, I find that the Army is the best way to go because of its immense emphasis on training. I am an information tech so I can say this...when you attend training, it is world class.
Go to the Army recruiting office and tell them you want to be a 25B (info tech specialist). They will provide you all the info you need.

Computer Software Engineer choosing major need help?
cwoodwa
I am trying to pick the right major for a Computer Software Engineer, this is what I think I want to do with my career and I'm not sure which major I am supposed to choose for this. Would it be AS, Engineering Technology, AAS Computer Information Technology, AAS Computer Programming and Analysis, or AS Computer Info Tech?
Answer
Hey, I just graduated college with a BS in Computer Science and am currently employed as a Software engineer, definitely a good choice to be looking into (Pays very well :] ) ! Out of all those fields, I would go with AAS Computer Programming and Analysis, as the primary function of a software engineer is to design, test and implement new programs.
