My husband and I are moving there in a week! I have found out that with my current AT&T mobile phone service, I will pay the normal monthly fee with AT&T plus $1.99 per minute (when calling the U.S.). This is too much! Do any of you know what the best service is for the island? Also, should we go with a cable phone service (hooked up through the computer) rather than the local telephone company? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks so much. :)

For the past few decades, the telecommunications services in The Bahamas have been typically a few steps behind, and one hundred steps more expensive, compared to similar services in the U.S. and Canada. This is due to the Bahamas government's monopoly and regulation of the telephone communications sector, which effectively granted a monopoly to the government owned and controlled BaTelCo (Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation).

Local Calling
If you need to find a local number while in The Bahamas, call directory assistance by dialing"916." To call a location on the same island, dial the seven-digit local number. To call between islands, dial"1-242" plus the local seven-digit phone number.

Cellular telephone service is available in The Bahamas. However, you must first register with BATELCO (Bahamas Telephone Company). If your current cellular service provider does not have an established agreement with BATELCO, you will need a SIM card from BATELCO to use your phone in The Bahamas. Alternately, you can rent a phone for your visit by contacting BATELCO at the information below or by visiting a branch in any of the major cities in The Bahamas:

Phone: 242-394-4000

Fax: 242-394-3573

Email: info@batelnet.bs

Coin-operated pay phones are plentiful throughout The Bahamas. The cost for a local call is $0.25(USD). Recently, phones that only accept calling cards have replaced some of the old coin phones. These calling cards come in set amounts of $5(USD), $10(USD), $20(USD), and $50(USD), and are available for purchase at any of the BATELCO branches.

Long Distance Services
To reach The Bahamas by phone from Canada or the U.S., dial"1-242" plus the local number. Residents of the U.K. must dial"001-242" before the local number. To place a direct call from The Bahamas to Canada or the U.S., dial"1" before the area code and the local number. To call other countries, dial"011" prior to the country code, area code, and local number.

AT&T subscribers can make long-distance phone calls by calling 800-CALL-ATT (225-5288) or by using any Bahamas phone with AT&T or USA DIRECT denoted somewhere on the booth. These special phones connect directly to an AT&T operator as soon as the handset is lifted. Check for these phones near the ship ports. MCI can also be reached for long-distance calls by dialing 800-888-8000.

Can you load a Sims 3 expansion pack onto more then one computer?

Me and my friend decided to trade are sims 3 expansion packs to save money. She had University Life and I had Late Night. University worked find and i played it for like 3 hours. Late Night did not work on her computer. She said it was still reading my content from my game? Why did my disk work and hers didnt?

Answer
The game runs off the most recently released pack you've installed, rather than the most recently installed pack, so when you're borrowing other people's disks, you need to be careful you don't both end up needing the same one to start your games. I'm guessing that's what's happened here.

Everything from your game is stored on your computer's hard drive. Nothing is stored on the disk, so nothing would be taken over to her machine and it definitely can't still be reading content from your game. That's impossible.

If she was previously running University then I'm guessing she got a message saying she needed to insert a different pack to play after she installed Late Night? - If so, all she needs is the disk from her most recently released pack. The message would have told her which disk to insert, and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with the LN disk.

From what you say, it sounds like she was just running the game from the University disk, and installed Late Night, but still needs University to run the game. One of you will either need to uninstall University, buy a more recent pack (Island Paradise is your only option at the moment), or install a mod that allows you to play without the disk (which I wouldn't recommend unless you're comfortable with installing game mods and bypassing the game launcher. - http://nraas.wikispaces.com/NoCD).

I hope this helps, but without knowing exactly what happened when she installed Late Night I can't give a more concrete answer, I just guessed what would be most likely judging from what you said. Feel free to email me through my profile page or ask another question with more info if I guessed wrong! :)
