I want to donate an old desktop but do not want any privlidged info transferred. Is there a program that wipes out entered data and leaves the OS and and other programs intact? I don't want to reinstall everything before I donate the computer.

there are two ways to do this one that goes against what you want to do and one that follows what you want to do and takes forever. 1. follow your way uninstall every program YOU installed not ones you did not install you can do this by going into the control panel and clicking on add or remove programs only uninstall items you put their then delete all your files on the computer 2. faster but you will haveto reinstall windows if you have the windows install disc go to my computer right click on drive c: click format it will warn you that this should not be done or your start up drive should not be formated ignore and format anyway only if you have the windows operating system disc your computer after formating will "crash" to shut it off press and hold the power button until the computer shuts off but before you do that put the disc in the drive but don't close it yet when you turn it on it will say can not load operating system this is when you close the drive and reinstall windows this is much faster and enures your data can not be found but since you don't want to do this you do not have to

What is the best and safest way to sell a computer I dont use?

I bout a lap top and table top as a package deal from dell. StILL paying by the way...I used the desktop for a while intill the screen blanked out while dusting. SHOCK??? So I only use laptop now and thought I might as well sell the other and put twards payments.
Does my info transfer with just the screen and key board??
Is it even worth any $ in the first place??
