Is using a restore CD to reset your computer to factory settings the same as pressing F12?
Tyler
I have a Windows Vista computer and I have heard 2 ways to resore my computer to factory settings. The first is using a restore CD that you get with the computer and the other being pressing F12 when your computer is starting up. I was wandering is there a difference between the 2 and which one is best. Answers are much appreciated. Thanks.
Answer
Using a restore CD/DVD is the only way to restore your computer to the factory settings, in other words delete all content and install windows again. If you press F12 while the computer is at boot mode (black screen with some info) the PC will display a boot menu, this is the order in which you want the PC to find an Operative System.(Hard drive, cd-rom, lan, usb).
