How do I get my computer to display Japanese characters?

Im not allowed to download anything on here, and my old computer easily displayed Japanese. I don't have any CD's to download. I just need to know what to do. And I don't want to take any risks at going to any website (no virus protection software). So PLEASE help me?

Do I need to buy an amp to record electric guitar into my computer?

I'm planning to buy this guitar.:

What I need to know is do I require an amplifier or a processor to record this guitar's sound into my pc? I know that I won't be able to play my guitar outside without an amp, but that's not the idea.

The way I do it is with Pro Tools and a USB interface, no amp. The amp models are built into Pro Tools. If you have a sound card that lets you plug a 1/4" into it you shouldn't need the USB interface though.
