I just installed ubuntu on my computer and i had a old drive that had files from windows formated in NTFS so is there any way i could access them from ubuntu
Answer
If you installed Ubuntu into it's own partition & still have the Windows partition on your hdd then yes you can still access those files.
If you reformatted the whole hdd when you installed Ubuntu, then no all that info would be gone.

Any body here knows about UBUNTU? Can you help me pls?
Don't look
I have got Ubuntu installed on my new computer. So I had some questions.
Why do ppl say Ubuntu is difficult? I found it good.
Can anyone tell me, what's the difference between Ubuntu and Windows?
And/or How are they inter-related?
Which one would you prefer and why?
Any additional info you would like to share?
And can I have both Ubuntu and Windows on my system?
If that helps I have Dell Inspiron N4050.
*anybody
Jazak Allah!
Much more clear answers than I got in software section.
Answer
Yes ubuntu is good stylish but when comes to user friendly nothing comes first better than Windows(xp 7 ) .
*Windows software comes in .exe files, which you are expected to get from the internet easily(major advantage) and from store less. This is more reliable and cheap.
*Ubuntu software comes in packages, which are installed and updated through a centralized system, like a more powerful version of Windows Update and Add/Remove Programs.
*Ubuntu has a home folder, which is fairly similar to My Documents in Windows. You can access this folder by clicking Places > Home Folder.
*Yes you can have Dual OS, means Windows and Ubuntu
You can see some comparisons here .. check the below link
