Answer
I would love to see a child port cite. But there is no way I'm going to that link, porn web sites = viruses.

Info from old computer to new computer?
grandma jj
Info for other computer users: I talked to Dell and found out that my genealogy info was on my hard drive, not the memory card. Unfortunately I have already thrown away the old computer. If you want to retrieve info from an old computer - retrieve the mother board to get the info from it. My loss may be helpful to someone else.
Answer
Ma'am; I think you are confused. The motherboard is a silicon based "board" that holds all the chips, controlling your computer, it's called the Mother, becuase all else comes from it; as we all come from Mother Earth.
Your information was left on your old hard drive, and yes; you should not have thrown your old PC away, becuase it could still have been used to retrieve information that you may have stored, as well as perhaps being useful to those who may be less fortunate; even small children, as a first PC with learning games on it, or recycling it, rather than just throwing it away.
I hope that you keep this in mind, when you upgrade the next time... God Bless!
Sincerely,
