Vuk
I asked already and I didn't get any good answers.....my computer is Windows 7 ultimate edition SP 1, I got this problem of freezing all of a sudden....I even sent my computer to the service and they didn't do anything, they said I need to re-install my windows. Okay....like a last resort. But I must find what the problem is! Please....help me.
I tried every single program that can fix a problem, and even switched anti viruses, and now I can't even install them, I can only run computer in safe mode, because in normal mode after few minutes it freezes after I use some program or web browser and listen something or watch on youtube.
Anyhow....ccleaner didn't work, blocks at 27% when It gets to windows log files, Spybot -search and destroy blocks on half way through, I used other programs but they also block. When I start defragment or error checker in normal mode, the computer freezes on start and if I use them in safe mode they block after few minutes without finishing. So basically I can't install anything....my professor of Tech told me it could be something with the temp files....that they can be in conflict or whatever? Because I used NOD32 newest version with everyday update so a virus can't pass....I think....I even uninstalled him and tried installing some other anti viruses but can't complete installation because, guess what? The computer freezes. I searched the internet and found similar problems and solutions, some said IE 9 is conflicting with the system, uninstalled it. Some said the driver aren't up to date, those guys in computer service checked my all components and every single one is good , even reinstalled drivers and installed them again to be up to date. Components are rather good, if you ask me I'd say from worst to best they are 8/10 if considering the newest components that were out and I bought the most expensive and best computer there was when I bought this one, and that was about year ago.
To end this story or question, I uninstalled every cleaner, problem fixer or something like that to see if they were the problem, if they were conflicting with the system and still....it freezes. It even freezes when I turn torrent to download, after some time ofc. About 5 min from start. I don't know if programs are ones responsible for freezing or the system itself....don't know what to try....don't tell me reinstall the system....because I already know that....that is the last resort. I need an answer to the problem and how to fix it. Anyone?
If you need any other info, tell me....I'll edit it.
EDIT:
No, I can function normally in safe mode but I can't do any scan or such, it's the same result. It freezes. None of the drivers is semi-transparent. I need some kind of repair....I tried to install bitdefender and I couldn't because it said "You were unable to start this setup. Try with administrator privileges" something like that. I googled it and people say that that's the problem with OS....there are some bugs or I don't know....issues.....
Any other options?
EDIT2:
No, really there are no Transparent. Yeah, I know about the run as administrator, I did so and yet it says I need to have administrator privileges to run the setup. I tried that CMD command you said but the computer blocked at 29% .....freeze again. I can function in safe mode but I get freezes also when i run programs. Now I tried system restore again but it got stuck even when tried to restart and change to previous season. And yeah, new symptom. Now my screen is blinking over time for a sec like it's getting an color error, all colors get mixed up and second later it gets normal.
Hm.....damn....need more men on this....

I'm not sure where simon received his information, but it's completely untrue. Windows 7 doesn't just STOP, in the way you're describing or otherwise, when it's not validated. The only difference between non-validated and genuine copies of Windows 7 are as follows:
-A message stating that Windows is not genuine appears on your desktop
-At initial login and at regular intervals, you'll receive a pop up in the task tray reminding you to validate Windows
-Any desktop background you choose will eventually, after 60 minutes, revert to a black background
-You will not be able to download non-security updates from Windows Update
That is all, everything else is fully functional and your system certainly wouldn't lock up due to this.
IRT EDIT2:
So far we've tried setting an environment variable for the device manager to show additional hidden devices and attempted to remove any ghost drivers from specific section to alleviate potential IRQ conflicts. You said there are no semi-transparent entries aside from those which I mentioned would be normal to see. Hard to believe, but fine.
I've suggested running a memtest, full virus scan in safe mode, and error checking the system drive. It seems none of this is possible due to the system locking up too frequently.
What I haven't heard, however, is results from browsing the Event Viewer after a lockup to see if you can pin-point the source of the problem. Besides that, I'm honestly at my wit's end as far as potential software fixes. Now you're getting even more problems with the video. Without being able to physically troubleshoot it myself, I would say it sounds like any or all of the following: faulty power supply, overheating CPU and possibly graphics adapter, corrupt system drive. With all that said, sadly - the very simplest option for the next step would seriously be to format and reinstall the operating system. If none of the problems persist, then at least you know the issue was configuration/software related (and the issue is fixed with a fresh install, anyhow). If not, then the problem lies in the hardware which, to be honest, at this point seems to be the case. Sorry I couldn't help you further. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

upgrade to faster desktop or throw windows 7 on my macbook?
Cheryl L
I have an archaic (in computer years) pc desktop running xp and it slow & making funny noises...so I'm trying to decide if I should buy a new desktop or just a new monitor and copy of windows 7 and parallels to put on my macbook (2009 aluminum 13) ... have to upgrade quickbooks either way and the mac version is just not good enough.

Take a look at QuickBooks Online Plus or Basic. These versions of QB are web based and work on either Mac or PC. Check out my site for more info http://www.Miami-accounting-online.com or the Intuit website to determine the pros and cons on Quickbooks Online
