How do you disconnect other users with windows 7 network within house-hold from viewing your Information on your PC? Is it possible for somebody on your internet home-connection to tap into your computer and see all your files and online activity, if there are online within your household with windows 7 ? Follow these steps to disable File Sharing on Windows 7:
Click the Windows Logo button.
Type file sharing in the search results window, and then touch Enter.
Under "File and Printer Sharing", check to be sure that Turn off file and printer sharing is selected.
Under "Public Folder Sharing", check to be sure that Turn off public folder sharing is selected.
Click Save Changes.

how do I access info from a hard drive (windows 7) from a computer running windows vista?

My computer crashed with running windows 7 premium - i have the hard drive removed and would like to use that hard drive still in my dell xps 730 machine I just got running. Is it safe to just add it to an open slot or are there preset that are needed to be able to access the information on the windows 7 hard drive? Or will the Dell (with windows vista premium) let me access the info like normal once I add it to the empty slot in that machine?
maybe crash is not the correct term. the power source isn't showing power in the power button(which normally when powers on lights up with a blue light) everything in the system seems like it turns on but no power light comes on with computer (this also acts as a ram light as well) I have solved this issue once before by changing power supplies... If I can still use the hard drive without changing power supplies again that would be preferable. does that help with whether or not the drive might still be usable and what again are the instructions for adding to the additional bay and the configuration in the bios for it to be used on the windows vista machine?

You can install the extra drive with Windows 7 in the extra bay. When you start up your computer it will boot to the Windows Vista. You can now access any info from the Windows 7 Drive and move to the Windows Vista Drive. Once you have transferred everything you need you can reformat the Windows 7 drive ad use either as an additional storage device and use to store additional files etc or you can remove it.

You can now access any info from the Windows 7 Drive and move to the Windows Vista Drive.
