Answer
Right-click on My Computer, select Manage, then click on Event Viewer, then double-click on the System item.
This will show you various software events that happened with your computer. You can try to look at the various events (double-click on one for more details) and see if it's telling you about any problems.
You might also try right-clicking on My Computer, selecting Properties, then click on Advanced, Startup & Recover, and un-checking "Automatically Restart" under "System Failure". This will let you see error message if Windows crashes.
If none of that helps, then maybe you have a hardware problem. You can get a program called memtest86 to test out your memory. You might also look for a program that will show your CPU temperature and see if it's overheating.
p.s. You really have way too little RAM. You should add a 512MB or 1GB stick of DDR (not DDR2!) laptop memory asap!

Answer
Well, Vista/XP usually does that pretty automatically. But you have to activate file sharing. To make a file available to your network, you need to right click the file, go to Properties, and then go to the Sharing tab. Check the box that says "Share this Folder on the Network." Once you have it set to share, you can then go to Network Places on your other computer, View Workgroup Computers, click the computer that you want to enter, and the file should appear there. You can then drag and drop whatever you want.
