Computer problem! my desktop computer doesn't work what to do help please I have very important info?

I have a dell desktop today I turned it on and I went to my profile and my background was blue which was strange i go to my documents and they are all gone! on the bottom it said u have very little space so im sure they are still there but I dont know where to look for them? all my pictures and songs are gone. i couldnt even get on the internet because it's acting weird. Im using my laptop to ask this. the computer home is for my brother and sisters and we have some important info please help
I tried searching for files i remember and it says it doesnt exist but my computer keeps saying we dont have any disk-space available

You can browse through using My Computer or do a search for a filename you remember that should give you some indication where to look.
