I read that the Notebook Hardware Control program can help cool down my laptop, I downloaded it but I'm not sure how to use it. Can someone tell me what I need to do? I am using a Dell inspiron 13 by the way
Answer
Notebook hardware control and monitoring software is very neat utility for controlling hardware components on your notebook computers and it is free for personal use!
Using this utility you can:
- Monitor CPU clock, CPU load and CPU voltage
- Monitor CPU temperature and hard drive temperature
- Control CPU multiplier
- Control CPU warning and shutdown temperature
- Monitor hard drive SMART and temperature
- Monitor physical memory and virtual memory state
- Monitor battery status
Using Notebook Hardware Control, you can control everything from the hard disk all the way to the processor! Itâs also a great tool to get a very in depth look at how your system is operating on a technical level, such as CPU Voltage, CPU temp, Fan usage, graphics card info etc.
From the web site, you can use the program to do the following things:
- control the hardware and system power management
- customize the notebook (open source ACPI Control System)
- prolong the battery lifetime
- cool down the system and reduce power consumption
- monitor the hardware to avoid system failure
- make your notebook quiet
The last one I like a lot because my Dell laptop is loud as heck when those fans turn on, which is pretty much all the time! Just to let you know though, I have not yet tried the program on my computer and according to the web site, there is a bug with Dell laptops, so you have to install the Bug Fix version of it.
Considering this program allows you to control your CPU speed, CPU voltage, ATI Clock, etc, it is definitely not meant for the average user. You should definitely know what you are doing if you install this program. Do NOT install it of change anything if you have no clue what changing the voltage on your CPU will do!!
However, even the the tool allows you to change lots of things, it also can be used as a monitoring tool for your hard disks and other internal hardware. The program allows you to monitor just about everything, so itâs a good tool to keep an eye out for whatâs going on in your system.
Here are some of the main features of the software:
NHC status section
NHC monitoring
CPU Speed Control (CPU policy)
Custom dynamic switching
CPU Voltage Control
CPU stability check
ACPI control system
ACPI control system details
ACPI Thermal Zone information
Battery Information
Advanced Battery settings
Graphic Card Control
Hard Disk settings
Hard Drive SMART Information
NHC settings
NHC profile editor
NHC advanced settings
Hope this help you!!

my windows computer error page?

Jack G
my other windows computer when you open it in less than 12 seconds the screen turns blue and reads error then it also says make sure all software and hardware are completlly unistalled or installed, then it says to turn into safe mode so i go to safe mode but the screen stills turns lue with the same measag, for more info email me
Answer
TRY SAFE MODE and go to 'My Computer' right click the HDD (Local Disk C: drive), then go to 'Tools' and click on 'Check Now' and select BOTH of the option. It will say that the next time ur PC is turned on, it will perform a disk cleanup and error check.
Once u done that. switch ur PC off, then when u turn it on, a LIGHT COLOURED BLUE SCREEN (normal window welcome screen type colors will come up) and it will fix up the computer- this checkup thing will take very long but it should help.
It did for me. if the blue screen still appears. Just reinstall XP or put a new clean copy, but ur work will get deleted.
