'United Stats of America' New Series May 8 on History Uses Statistics to Tell America's Stories
Randy and Jason Sklar were born a statistic: they are identical twins and stand-up comedians who also just happen to have an obsession with numbers and an amazing knack for finding the incredible stories behind the stats. The wisecracking brothers are the hosts of UNITED STATS OF AMERICA, a new series premiering Tuesday, May 8 at 10 p.m. on HISTORY®.
UNITED STATS OF AMERICA reveals the stories behind the most interesting and surprising statistics in American history â stories that tell us more about who we are as individuals and as a nation. Randy and Jason bring their irreverent brand of humor to locations across the country, uncovering hidden facts about America and Americans while engaging in stunts and experiments that help them uncover the story behind the stats. The Sklars will also utilize cutting-edge computer technology and visually stunning âinfographicsâ to help bring these numbers to life.
Upcoming episodes explore the stats that help us understand how much money we make (and what we spend it on), how long we will live (and how we will die), what we do with our free time (and how to make more of it), and a whole lot more. In one episode, the Sklars will find the stats that explain how the deadliest animal in America is neither the snake nor the shark; in fact, the animal most likely to kill you is a deer. In another episode, viewers learn that Americans waste 4.2 billion hours a year stuck in traffic and that in a nation with over 3.5 million square miles of territory, 99 percent of us are crowded into only eight percent of the land.
UNITED STATS OF AMERICA is produced for HISTORY by Left/Right. Executive Producers for Left/Right are Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver. Executive Producers for HISTORY are Dirk Hoogstra, Paul Cabana and John Verhoff.

Can I learn basics of Adobe Illustrator& make an infographic within 1-2 days?
Sheila
Applied for a job and have an interview in which the task is to make an infographic and come up with a digital marketing plan. My experience is in digital marketing mostly, and I have very basic design skills. I've made infographics before, but not via Illustrator. The task is due Wed. Is it unrealistic to attempt to learn the basics of Illustrator and make an infographic on this program before then? I just found out from the company they're looking for people with some amount of Adobe Creative Suit experience, which I don't really have, but was wondering if it was possible to gain fairly quickly...
Answer
It might be possible to create something, but you have to face the facts that you are not experienced with the Adobe products â that will be found out very quickly, my advice would be to make it clear that you are a novice with the software but that you are keen to learn.
Rather than start with the software, first draw out your graphic on paper and firm up exactly what you want to create before you start using the computer. Then you are in a stronger position to complete it in short order.
