Assuming you're refering to your computer's IP address and that you're running Windows XP as most people are these days, there is a simple way to obtain it. First, go to Start --> RUN and type "CMD" without the quotes, then hit <Enter>. This will open up a command prompt. At the blinking curser type "ipconfig" without the quotes. This will give you your computer's IP address.
If you are looking for your ethernet card's MAC address, follow the same steps except this time type "ipconfig /all". This will not only display the IP address, but the computer's ethernet card's MAC address and some other IP related info as well (such as the DNS servers you are using and your default gateway).
