Hello, I have recently purchased a new video graphics card for my Gateway desktop, but unfortunately I am unable to use it because of my Multimedia controller. I know this because under my Device Manager it says it is not functioning (Multimedia Controller) and needs drivers. (see picture below). I had recently wiped my Harddrive and I never installed the drivers for that device alone. I have been searching for these drivers for about an hour. I have found the drivers page for my computer model, but not sure what to download from the list of drivers available (link below) and if it is even there. Help would really be appreciated, thanks.

I don't think it's you new Graphic Card because Graphic Card's are sometimes Plug and Play, after inserting it to the PCI Slot, Windows will detect it and install Generic Driver.
Mostly that Multimedia Controller is a Sound Device, because Graphic Cards usually are VGA with (!). But seeing that you don't have Display Adapters which your Graphic Card should be seen, it must be that you will be needing to download its driver on the manufacturer's site, either NVIDIA or ATI. Look for its Model Number and search on google.
But if you want easy access and latest drivers, I recommend you use Driver Finder, it will scan your PC's hardware devices, look for drivers compatible with it and ready for download.
Hope it helps you with your problem.

Is there a way to Transfer memory from my old motherboard to my new one?
Samuel Ste
I'm thinking about doing a complete overhaul on my computer (new i5 processor, LGA 1155 motherboard, DDR3 RAM, and a EVGA nVidia GeForce 9500GT ) and I was curious if you could transfer data from your old motherboard to your new one, i.e. downloaded game addons (FSX) and your general computer data. Info would be helpful.
Answer
Yeah just transfer your hardrive into the new rig.
however if it is windows xp you will need to boot it in safe mode initially (just once) because it will attempt to load all the drivers from the previous computer and probably throw a fit.
once you have done that just install your drivers and then away you go with all you data and games not to mention your installed programs
