Computer Security Classes?

Penny

I would like to take classes in computer security. Are the classes hard and what is the best school to go to in Maryland for this type of training?

Also, is it better to get a degree or will a certificate program be okay?

Answer
It all depends upon what you plan to do with the education, because there are many areas of specialization within computer security. There's database security, network security, system security and others. Your best bet is to have a background in computer science or information science, since you'll need to understand programming and network concepts. Personally, I recommend a degree since I'm interested in computer security research, but it really depends upon what you want to do. These links might give you a starting point and a chance to think about what appeals to you.

Microsoft offers security certification as part of the MCSE/MCSA certification. There's some info at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/highlights/security.mspx

You can get training through groups like SANS (http://www.sans.org/), but it's kind of expensive. Also, CERT offers training (http://www.cert.org/).

There's an online Master's degree in security offered at http://www.infosec.jmu.edu/ that might give you an idea of what's involved in going that route and if it's what you're after.

Hi I have a question and need some help :
Office automation systems
A) are comprised of software that is used to develop documents and spreadsheets.
B) include report generators
C)are a type of interorganizational system
D)are usually developed in-house

Answer
I wasn't taking any class for this, so, I don't know, but,

C sounds like the best answer. B is /probably/ also correct, but, I guess it isn't guaranteed. D is probably not right, and A is probably not right.
