computer info tech salary image

Frogger
I got accepted into Georgia Tech, Case Western, UIUC, Drexel, Virginia Tech, and William and Mary. I am a Virginian resident and therefore will pay instate tuition if I attend Virginia Tech or William and Mary. Thing is, my family income bracket is high, 200k + and I am an only child so I do not qualify for scholarships. My parents think it is a rip off to pay 45 k to attend Georgia Tech or UIUC, one the best computer science schools in the nation. Virginia Tech is good for engineering, but its computer science is mediocre at best. I am really really confused. I've always thought that prestige of the school doesn't matter for computer science, but lately its been crossing my mind how I can attend some of the best schools for comp sci and remain competitive. Someone help me. Is a computer science degree worth it going out of state? My plans after graduation is to attend a top grad school such as Stanford or MIT for Comp Sci.
Answer
I would talk to the people at each school. Get more information. Is your source for Virginia Tech's computer science a reliable source? Talk to them and make sure you are getting the right info. (Although they may talk highly of their program if it isn't great...) Talk to some students yourself. Can you find any computer science students at Virginia?
I personally reccomend instate tuition. Employers do not care about where you get your degree. They just care about the degree. You can always go to Virginia Tech and if you are not happy with the program, you can transfer.
I am not a computer science major-just my opinion.
I was told by someone to look up median salaries. I know that Computer Science majors make A LOT of money, so being in debt by paying the out of state schools tuition can be made up once you get out of college, so you won't be in debt all your life if you are worried about that.

has anyone taken the audio test for Xerox for a job?

Amelia
Is there anyway tips you used to pass it to actually hear what the caller is saying
Answer
Below are some interviews shared by people who applied. Good Luck!!
TIPS: The main advice I would give is just to be very enthusiastic about Xerox. The people who work there have such a huge sense of pride in the company and they are very loyal to Xerox. You should sound very excited to have the chance of interviewing there. Do research before you go - make sure you know the current news about Xerox and then try to bring that up in your interview so you can show you really know the company. Also, Xerox loves "horizontal learning" - talk about things you have done just for the experience instead of just doing it to further your career.

Customer Care at Xerox Accepted Offer â Interviewed in Nashville, TNAug 2012â
Interview Details â1. Filled out app on Career Builder
2. Got an email asking for more info
3. Responded to email, received info on interview
4. Went to interview: spent 30 minutes taking a computer test, 45 minutes waiting after I passed the test to meet with recruiter. By now it was me and two others. Recruiter took us on a tour of the production floor, then we went back to her office, she interviewed us one by one for about five minutes. She offered me the job, and I accepted. She told me to go back to the computer room to fill out some forms and the offer letter.
5. First day was four days later on a Monday
Interview Question âWhere do you see yourself in one year? What does "customer service" mean to you? Think of an irate customer and how would you deal with them?
Customer Service Representative at Xerox Accepted Offerâ Reviewed Aug 16, 2012
Interview Details âThe hiring process is pretty rigorous. First you must complete the application on there website. A few days late you will get a questionnaire emailed to you. Be advised that this questionnaire is NO JOKE! It's about 40 questions (mostly essay questions). These are involved questions asking things like tell me about a time you worked hard to help a customer. After you complete this (within 24 hours) you will get a call if you qualify. After this you must take an assessment. The assements are a typing test, a listening test where you listen to recorded phone calls and answer questions and a customer service inventory of about 100 questions. If you pass all the assessments you get to come in for an interview. The interview was pretty routine and lasted a little less than an hour. I was actually nervous based on the pre interview process. I was picturing a police type interrogation with bright lights. But it was a pretty enjoyable process as far as interviews go,
If you wow them on the interview and get the job then you consent to a drug test and background/credit check. It's a lot to do in a little bit of time. But worth it to work at a great company.
Interview Question âYour interview questions will be a piece of cake to answer after having answered the 40 question pre-screening. Just use one of those scenarios if you get stuck.
Negotiation Details âThere is no negotiation. On the app you are asked what is your salary requirement and you must answer this.
Once you get an offer they will tell you what the salary is.
