What's the difference from a Computer hardware engineer and a computer software engineer?
or are they both the same careers? if not...then what's the diffference? and which would be the easier job and have better pay?
Answer
I guess it's like the difference between software and hardware. If you want to deal with the computer as a machine, with its parts then take hardware engineering. If you want to create applications and programs for the computer or design 3D models or web pages, well anything connected with the software for computer, study software engineering... I don't know which is better paid, but there are a lot of software jobs out there.

How can i get a good job in Computer Hardware Engineering?

Bilal
Hi, i'm a freshman at a high school. I'm really interested into getting a job when i grow up as a computer hardware engineer. I know a lot about a specs of computers, i have when to multiple tours at Intel to see their CPU's at the HQ. I have built my own computer also. But kind of degree's do i have to have and classes do i have to take to get a medium to high paying job in this field?
Answer
You seem to be interested in Computer Engineering. After your 3rd year in college you could apply to different companies to work as an intern (Intel usually pays $15 to $20 an hour around here. I think Cisco pays more but they usually hire students from top schools only. I worked as an intern while going to college and was paid $20 an hour which was very reasonable. This is in California) while you attend college. That's a pretty decent pay considering that you are still a student.
If you want to get prepared for Computer Engineering you should try to take as many math, physics and programming (C/C++ and scripting) courses as possible. Java may also help if you plan to develop small programs.
In the US the starting salary for a CpE is $60K a year which is above the average salary for all degrees.
