Answer
I've done security audits for companies for very similar issues.
While I don't have all the info to definitively say what the cause is, there's are a few possible explanations
1) radio interference. I had a case where speakers were getting intermittent reception of a talk radio station! This is a very rare event, but it does happen from time to time.
2) you did have a program running and just didn't know it. To see if you're running something that's connected to the net, run netstat from the command line like so: netstat -ab This will tell you what programs are generating the network traffic.
I hope this helps!

How can i remote shutdown a computer with admin account info?

Ritard200
I want to remote shutdown a computer, and i know the admin account name and password, but every time i try it says access denied, how can i authenticate my admin-ness on another computer through Cmd?
I tried the shutdown command, it said access denied
Answer
Not sure if this will work, but try establishing a windows sharing connection first by typing the UNC name in the RUN box and using the admin login & password
\\COMPUTERNAME
If that doesnt work, then the user probably has most of the network sharing features turned off. The SHUTDOWN command is really only for use in computers joined to a Windows domain.
