how can i block a website on a computer without paying for software? its on Mozilla Firefox and internet explorer, can i block my entire network?
Answer
Most routers usually have configuration options in them that allow you to filter out websites. Simply type your Default Gateway Address* into your internet browser and enter your user-name and password for the router. If you haven't already set a password, by default it is usually along the lines of "admin" and "password." If you aren't sure you can search your routers manufacturer for the default password settings on their router.
Within the configuration page there is sure to be an option that allows you to block websites by simply typing them in.
* Your Gateway Default Address can be found by pressing Start>Run>type "cmd" and the command prompt will open up. Type "ipconfig" into the command prompt and scroll up to find the IP address of your default gateway.
