I have pentium 4 2.66ghz and 256ddr memory. I updated all windows system. I have avg and avast anti virus and spybot and ad aware anti spyware/malware. i already run this all anti virus and malware even in safe mode. and found nothing and yet my computer is to slow. Im in now safemode bcause this run faster. pls help me. Pls email your answer or email me to send you my hijack log. thanks

Will computers ever have emotions?

I need to write an essay about computers having emotions. I have to write it in a NEGATIVE perspective though, and am having trouble getting information/ideas. If anyone could help me out with some reasons that would be great!

we are being warned that the singularity is fast approaching: when computers will have become smarter than man...that time is not far off, well within our lifetime..the ability to do calculations of an enormous amount at speeds unheard of, rivaling and surpassing the ability of the human brain to process info, and the speed at which it does it....keeping in mind ALL that the brain does now, in a heartbeat: scents sights sounds movements thoughts decisions actions feelings body functions muscle movements..all regulated by the brain.
with that having been said, ....the next big thing is: will computers become self aware? to have that much knowledge, or should i say, that much information at one's grasp, ...it seems like being aware of your own existence is a natural thing to happen...if you know all that stuff, surely you must know you exist.
but emotions? real emotions? not likely; but staged emotional responses? yeh. computers and robots are already being made, which can show you an emotional response to specific stimuli: they can smile when you talk a certain way, frown when you do a certain thing.
things can get tricky here....human emotions are really too similar to computer responses...our behavior is basically just a chemical reaction to outside and inward stimuli.. we have psychotropic drugs which supply different chemicals to certain parts of the brain, which cause us to behave differently....tranquilizers, antidepressants, narcotics, hallucinogens...
all too often we do things and feel a certain way, without actually knowing why or having a clear reason in our own minds to account for our actions and feelings.....this site alone fields a multitude of questions concerning love.
in writing this answer, my own writing has turned from a negative response, which you seek, to a positive response, suggesting the possibility of such a thing being a reality.
as humans, we put a high value to our own feelings, as being valid and real, and yet, for the most part, we hardly know what they are or where they come from....it is quite possible to elicit the same reactions for the same reasons from machines.
