I have a 512 MB USB Flash Drive card. If i use it will it "give" me more memory into my computer? Like, if i were to play a game which requires more MBs could i just insert the card, and presto? Or are these cards only for transfering info from one computer to the next?
I have one more question, whats the difference between RAM and Hard Drive?
Thanks in advance!
Wow, thanks everyone for all the info! It helped A LOT to figure everything out, lol. Thanks again!
Answer
USB Flash Drive Card
A small, portable flash memory card that plugs into a computerâs USB port and functions as a portable hard drive. USB flash drives are touted as being easy-to-use as they are small enough to be carried in a pocket and can plug into any computer with a USB drive. USB flash drives have less storage capacity than an external hard drive, but they are smaller and more durable because they do not contain any internal moving parts
USB Flash drive can be used to Boot a PC, transfer data from 1 PC to another but they do not make a PC run faster.
RAM
random-access memory: the most common computer memory which can be used by programs to perform necessary tasks while the computer is on; an integrated circuit memory chip allows information to be stored or accessed in any order and all storage locations are equally accessible
Hard Disk (also known as HDD)
In a personal computer, a hard disk drive (HDD) is the mechanism that controls the positioning, reading, and writing of the hard disk, which furnishes the largest amount of data storage for the PC.
A hard disk is part of a unit, often called a "disk drive," "hard drive," or "hard disk drive," that stores and provides relatively quick access to large amounts of data on an electromagnetically charged surface or set of surfaces.
A hard disk/drive unit comes with a set rotation speed varying from 4500 to 7200 rpm. Disk access time is measured in milliseconds. Although the physical location can be identified with cylinder, track, and sector locations, these are actually mapped to a logical block address (LBA) that works with the larger address range on today's hard disks

Answer
-Plug the stick into a USB port.
-Open "My Computer"
-Double click any portable drive that shows up there
-Drag and drop, or copy and paste any files you want to store on the stick
-Plug stick into a USB port on the other computer and reverse the process.
No programs needed, but some USB sticks have drivers that install themselves when you plug in the stick. No commands, just copy and paste.
