I hear alot about hackers breaking into computers in banks, government facilities, and other secure places to steal information or secrets.
Obviously, a computer with confidential or top secret info on it would not be connected to the internet. So how would a hacker gain access to it? It would have to be an employee or janitor or someone with physical access to the office, wouldn't it? How could a thief remotely access a computer if there is no connection from it to the internet or to other computers?
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Answer
You have the key there. These computers do have connections with the outside. If the connections are private lines between the company's several computers its very hard but possible to break in. Even private networks like the government uses are still networks that can be connected to with the right tools.

How do I run microsoft Access remotely? I want to install access on home computer and run it from my office?

I want to have the main database at home and upload information and retrieve info while I'm at the office? Is their software or can I run something from my website to allow me to do this?
Answer
Access is useless for this, it is not good for local network use, and the problems with remote use on a machine with a dynamic IP through a router and firewall will make it far too slow for sensible use. This is why there are decent databases like mysql, which you probably have on your hosting site if they are any good at all. This eliminates all the security issues of connecting remotely to the database server, as it can all be done using web pages and php.
